If there's anything Chuck could have been expecting, it isn't that. He blinks at her, and a moment later, he pulls himself to his feet, though he's not sure why. He's not going to try to stop her if she wants to go. It's just that he has no idea what the hell has just happened, and although he can't make her talk to him if she doesn't want to, he can't pretend it's not blindsiding, either.

Part of him thinks that it's no wonder, when he knows he's no good at this shit. They've made it this far, though, and that's not for nothing. All he can really do is try.

"Okay," he says, slow and a little confused and not trying to hide it. "If that's what you want."
